Install ShabdaTara on your Mac.

Download ShabdaTara-macOS.dmg from this site, then drag the app into Applications.

Install from the disk image

  1. Choose Download for Mac.
  2. Open ShabdaTara-macOS.dmg.
  3. Drag ShabdaTara into Applications.
  4. Open ShabdaTara from the menu bar.

First launch

  • Microphone — required to dictate.
  • Accessibility — required to insert text into other apps.
  • Screen Recording — optional. Used only when you choose it.

Choose your language in the app. German, Hindi, and Russian use the multilingual speech model, which you can install from Settings. English can dictate without that model.
