What we can help with

• Installation

  Choose Download for Mac to get ShabdaTara-macOS.dmg, open it, and drag ShabdaTara to Applications. Windows is coming soon and is not available to download yet.

  Download

• Dictation

  Hold Right Option and talk in the app you already have open, then release. Command-Option is hands-free. Both can be changed in Settings. ShabdaTara does not translate.

• Microphone permissions

  Dictation needs microphone access. If macOS permission is denied, ShabdaTara cannot hear you. Turn it on in System Settings, then try the shortcut again.

• Accessibility permissions

  Accessibility is required to insert text into other apps. If it is off, ShabdaTara can still transcribe and then fail to type into the frontmost app.

• Keyboard insertion

  ShabdaTara types at the cursor in the app you were using. Click into that app first. If nothing appears, check Accessibility, then try a plain text field.

• Language and transcription

  You can pick English, German, Hindi, or Russian. Automatic language detection is not available. If Automatic is selected, ShabdaTara inserts nothing and asks you to pick a language. English uses the local English path. German, Hindi, and Russian need the multilingual model and do not fall back to English. Meetings stay on English.

• Windows

  ShabdaTara for Windows is coming soon. There is no Windows download yet.
